Amber was a ‘gem’ that was treasured by the ancient people of the north as it is the embodiment of the life force or ‘blood’ of the trees, (it is ancient tree resin!) Many ancient cultures traded for amber, as they were highly prized pieces to be found.   It is said to have a special magical property: when you rub it, it will build an electric charge.
