This ancient-inspired bowl was created with a bowl-mold, where liquid clay is poured and sets into the shape of the mold box. A ‘foot’ is added to elevate the bowl, ancient-inspired carvings inlaid and my favorite ‘old copper’ glaze applied to create the illusion of a long-lost treasure from long ago.
The imperfections within the glaze are what truly give this a ‘wabi sabi’ feel. Despite being poured to fit a mold, it carries a uniqueness that cannot be matched or replicated.
